Here's where things get a little confusing.  And shocking, in an exciting kind of way.  I apologize to my faithful daily followers for the sudden silence of daily photos.  I've been taking so extended time away from the internet the past two weeks and have been making some changes in my photography business, with the intention of making it BETTER.  Better blog, more room to spread my wings and share my photography with all of you.  Honestly, I don't know how this transition is going to work out this next week, but I will do my best to make it as seamless as possible without losing any of you.

With new ideas comes a new name for the photography side of my life:  Bubbling Brook Photography.  The details need to be worked out, but my new blog site is starting.  It's a rough draft, to be sure, but when you get to the new site, please click on the "blog" tab to continue following my photo-a-day project.  Please click on the "follow" link on the new blog page to get my daily photo posts!  Thank you for continuing on this exciting new journey with me!!! Tell your friends! Tell your family!

Truth:  1. If I tell you that you'll be my photo of the day, you probably will be.  2. If you come over for a dinner party, you'll probably be asked to wash the dishes.  Just saying.

Best soup to date.  Spicy Chicken Soup! It's probably so good because there's 6 Tbsp. butter and a cup of cream in... oh, two Scandinavian-sized servings.

This is a cat.  This cat is named Pumpkin Juice (not her real name).  Pumpkin Juice is eating a gingerbread house.  Yes, eating a gingerbread house.  This is not my cat.  My cat does not eat gingerbread houses.

It was well overdue for a weekend getaway!  My lovely friend Alyssa and I took a relaxing trip to the beach to read.  Since I'm filling in extra photos to cover days I've missed, it will appear that our "vacation" lasted longer than it really did...

Another photo from the fantastic "P" family.  (I think it's hilarious when photographers write that.)

Because I'm a couple weeks behind in posting (what!), the dates don't matter at this point.  I wanted to share a couple more photos from my recent family photoshoot.  She is enchanting!

You know it's time to put away the nativity scene when you start trying to remember the Christmas carols with the cats in them.  You know, "Hark, the Harald Cats Meeow," "Joy to the Purr," "Silent Cat Fight," etc.

Besides being swept away with dancing, songs, and exploding colors from the Broadway musical "The Westside Story" tonight downtown, I made chicken stock.  It was forbidden to take photos during the show (or else, of course, that would have been my photo choice) so my new challenge of making homemade soup is being showcased.  I boiled a chicken.  Now to make soup.

I went to the library tonight to get some movies.  Instead, I found it.  IT.  Yes, the answers.  Wow.  Look out world!  Lisa J. Cohen, PhD, you figured it out so we don't have to!

I just realized it's Leap Year! Adding an extra photo this year!  The beginning of a new year is a great time to do some changing and updating-- like my wardrobe.  Thank you JC Penney's.

A full year of a photo every day!  What a project this has been!  I was thinking about upping the ante on a photo project this year-- any ideas for me?  Weekly themes, perhaps?  Recipes?  A regular daily photo like I've been doing?  Give me some feedback!

The first photo of the year is a jug of water.  It's to remind us to not take anything for granted-- like running water-- and be thankful for what we have.  Whatever things come your way this year, whether "good" or "bad" or just plain inconvenient or annoying, know that God has your life in his sovereign hands-- whether you believe it or not doesn't change the fact that he does, and he cares about the details of your life.
"God's hand reaches back to the past, settling all the claims against our conscience. ... Let the past rest, but let it rest in the sweet embrace of Christ." (--Oswald Chambers)

Happy New Year's Eve!  Celebrating in style with Langhorne Slim, rocking banjos, and dancing with best friends in the front row!  What a fabulous way to celebrate the new year!

Banjos are sexy.

For those of you who live in Portland, you are very familiar with what this abstract photo is of-- the sad part is that as I was driving over the Burnside Bridge, I was really trying to get the photo in focus as I was driving... but sometimes in life, our best efforts come up short and the result isn't what we had hoped for, however, we can always take what we are given and make something good out of it.
