February is over already! It always seems like such a short month...
Tonight was Dinner & A Movie night showing "The Mask of Zorro" and Mexican food, complete with homemade gluten-free tortillas (*sigh*) and from-scratch flan (amazing Kristin made the flan-- or, phlem).
So here's the flan in all it's golden glory before I consumed it.

One more day 'til the end of February!  I spent a lot of time playing music today, so in honor of music, here's the piano.  However, I did not play the piano today.  It's very out of tune.

(p.s. If you regularly peruse my photos, click on the "follow" button over there on the right --> You know who I am, I want to know who you are. It makes me feel important. Thanks!)  :)

I am done with boxes of dye. (Thank God! you might say...) Speaking of God, he made me blonde, so I guess I'll try to stay that way.

Today a tiny stowaway was discovered in a new shipment of bromeliads.  He was kind enough to pose still and tilt his head just enough to get a good profile shot.

I am starting a new photography project today, an idea occurring when I was doing my Bible study homework for the day.  I will be doing a series on Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you."  Each photo will be a reflection of different definitions of the Hebrew words in the verse.  Sound complicated?  Today's photo is my interpretation of the Hebrew for perfect peace: shalom "to be safe, be complete... a satisfied condition, a state of peacefulness, a sense of well being...."

I think there are going to be many photos of flowers posted on this blog.  My two favorite things to photograph are people and up-close flowers.  Daffodils defy the impending snow storm approaching the Northwest with their unbearable eternally positive mood.

Had a creative photo shoot this afternoon to showcase some very long hair.  Contact me to book your own creative portraits to remember this time in your life, wherever you're at, with whomever your with, and whichever canine or feline companion lives out their days with you.  I'd love to capture your life in photos!

Fifty days of photos! A beautifully clear day faded into a contented evening, deer grazed under the restful twilight.  I flicked on the left hand blinker and made a u-turn to remember this image.

What a wonderful day to celebrate life! I think that we should send our moms birthday presents when it's our birthday.  They're the ones who are the heroes and went through all the pain!  So here's to you, Mom! Thanks for bringing me into the world!
I have a new favorite restaurant: Stanford's.  They made me a complementary creme brulee (FABULOUS)!

This morning I awoke to ginormous (real word?) snowflakes dancing through the sky.  My giant fluff dog was leaping out of his fur to get outside, until he realized it was mushy out.

Happy Love Day!  Even if you don't have a romantic love in your life (or perhaps you do), just know that there's someone who loves you more than you can ever imagine!
Flowers from a sweet friend today...

Sometimes in life, you have to let someone else take care of things and just step aside for a little bit.  So, when my roommate said, "By the way, I'm making dinner for us tonight," I said okay. It was amazing.

All artists of all mediums can acknowledge that not everyone will appreciate their art. Hence, photographers know that not everyone will either enjoy or cooperate with their photo being taken.  Especially if it's your boss.

Discovered today that I'm willing to say goodbye to life as I know it because my heart is longing for something more.
The language of God is silence.
1 Kings 19:11-12, "Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence."
Psalm 46:10, "Be silent, and know that I am God!"

Writers get "writer's block," musicians lose their music, and artists have a blank canvases staring bleakly at them.  I'm discovering that photographers sometimes get... I don't know what to call it-- image block, perhaps. It's not that I don't carry my camera around with me all day, because I do.  It's not that I miss the perfect moment to freeze in memory, but maybe I'm not looking for them all the time.  My brain gets too filled with things to see parts of my life that have become so routine they're ordinary.  Why remember the ordinary? So maybe in the mundane I'll rediscover why I love life so much!  So here's to mac n' cheese:
P.s. If you're reading this, my divulging into my ordinary life may not seem so interesting, but hang in there; maybe you'll glimpse a "good" photo now and then.

This is going to be a cheesy photo.  When the days are slow at AGC and the Receiving Dept. needs some extra help, those of us (me) who are paid to be available when the phone rings, get to help put price tags on items. It just so happens that I fell in love with something that I was putting a price tag on.  For symbolic reasons only known to myself and a few other people (feel free to ask me about it, I might tell you) I am "adopting" the bunny in the photo. His name is known only to him and I.

Yogi Tea is not only fabulous and full of deep rich health, but it also has sage insight on the tags.  It's something like a getting an apt fortune cookie prophesy, yet far more thought provoking. The following is my Yogi Tea saying of the day: "Live in your strength." Where do you find your strength?
"In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength."  Isaiah 30:15
